It’s crazy – we (a sizable percentage of the U.S. population) are demanding that the feds “secure the border” to keep so-called “undesirables” out, but we’re not being told that the most effective way to do that is to improve their lives at home enough that they don’t feel the need TO come. And the GOP (and most of the Democrats too) just don’t get it – it’s like everyone’s saying “smaller government, except we need fences and technology and tens of thousands of border patrol agents when we’re not willing to pay for it and the money would be far more effectively spent elsewhere.

This is more than just a little frustrating….

President Bush will need a job come January of ‘09. Perhaps he could dig a moat?
