Arian: No,what’s ridiculous is that somebody offers this kind of dumbass comment when the article itself is quite clear that this is the first of three parts and that two higher-ranked tiers are yet to come.

Check back AFTER the whole list published. If you’re mad about a band being excluded THEN, fine. Until then you’re simply a bad psychic.

The Lost Patrol’s “Launch and Landing” better be in one of the next two categories. Same goes for The Editors’ “An End Has a Start”.

Otherwise, there are a lot of discs here I need to check out.

I know about 3 of these band. Yes that may make me uncool, or am I so cool that I don’t know most of these bands? Maybe i’m so far ahead, i’m behind again? Either way 8-8-08 is when our double album comes out, it only took 5 years.

The main problem I have with the various critics’ darlings in the music field these days is this: don’t any of these artists have anything to say about the Bush Crime Family? Or the Iraq War? Or the death of American democracy?

I’m not saying that every album needs to be a dreary political screed. But I have to admit, I find it downright eerie how very few in the music field really seem to have anything to say about Iraq, or the Decline and Fall Of America Under Bush.

It’s quite a contrast to the 1960s when the pop charts were full of great social commentary songs, from Dylan to Buffalo Springfield to Country Joe, etc.

By contrast, these days, our corporate MSM is snoozing and there is a great deal that needs to be said. But hardly anyone in the music world seems to have much to say.

God, I miss the likes of The Clash, Crass and The Dead Kennedys.
