While vaccines could be the common denominator, let's look at a small sampling of other possibilities that have yet to be ruled out as possible common denominators: fluoride, water pollution, antibiotics, vitamins, vitamin deficiencies, air pollution, hormones in meat, pesticides on fruits and veggies, and flame retardant chemicals, to name just a few. Singling out vaccines as the common denominator is unwarranted.

Of those, the only one I'd consider even remotely benign is chicken pox. Complications from mumps causes sterility, deafness, and death. Complications from measles pneumonia, deafness, retardation, and death (about 2-3 in 1000 children). Complications from pertussis are pneumonia, apnea, seizures, and death, especially in infants. Vaccines are now, and have been, one of the greatest health advances since their invention in the 1800s. Vaccines are responsible for the fact that people no longer drop dead in droves from polio and smallpox, never mind less serious disease like measles, mumps, or pertussis.

Sorry, but your health is a sample of 1, which has literally no statistical value on the advantages, or disadvantages, of vaccinations. Ever stop to think of all the diseases you've avoided because everyone around you hadn't been taking flu vaccines, MMR and pertussis vaccines, etc? You should.

Actually, the book on the correlation between vaccines, autism and other neurological disorders has never been closed. Millions of kids across the globe have been plunged into autism or are diagnosed with ADD and ADHD. Surely, even to the scientifically illiterate it must be fairly obvious that not every single one of these kids had a “rare underlying mitochondrial disorder” but that the common denominator in all cases are vaccines, which should not even come as a surprise given the toxic adjuvants contained therein such as thimerosal, aluminium (both neurotoxins), formaldehyde, polysorbate 80, MSG, aspartame in addition to many vaccines being cultivated on human diploid cells from aborted fetal tissues. This toxic mix is injected straight into the bloodstream of your baby or toddler whose immune system and brain are still in the developing stage. Surely, nobody with a conscience could possibly deny the high toxicity of thimerosal, which is made of mercury that in turn is 1000 times more toxic than lead. In drinking water, mercury cannot exceed 2 parts per billion. A mercury-containing flu shot, for instance, contains 50,000 !! parts per billion of mercury, i.e. 250 x the mercury level of hazardous waste. Thimerosal has never been tested for safety. Thimerosal’s Material Safety Data Sheet clearly states: ” Exposure to mercury in utero and in children can cause mild to severe mental retardation and mild to severe motor coordination impairment… Target Organ Effects: Mercury – Nervous system effects (insomnia, tremor, anorexia, weakness, headache), liver effects (jaundice, digestive effects (hypermotility, diarrhea).” The Centers for Disease Control released a study in Pediatrics that cited a correlation between Thimerosal-containing vaccines and both “tics” and “language delay” in children. Furthermore, on July 7, 1999, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the United States Public Health Service (PHS) issued a joint statement that because of the “neuro-developmental effects posed by exposure to thimerosal”, “thimerosal-containing vaccines should be removed as soon as possible.” The PHS and AAP recognized that because of thimerosal in vaccines, some
children would be exposed to “a cumulative level of mercury over the first six months of life that exceeds one of the federal guidelines on methyl mercury.”
However, although Thimerosal along with other toxic adjuvants plays a major role in the deteriorating health of our kids, the major contributing factor to the sharp rise in autism, neurological disorders, autoimmune diseases, diabetis, cancers is the
injection of viruses directly into the bloodstream, thus bypassing secretory IgA. Experts in this field, such as Dr. Carley, therefore concluded that autism is actually a non-fatal case of subacute
sclerosing panencephalitis caused by demyelination following vaccine induced
encephalitis, and that the name of the condition was changed to autism to
hide this self evident fact. In short, live viruses bypass secretory IgA,
causing vaccine induced encephalitis and subsequent demyelination. From a personal perspective, I consider the obsession with vaccinating our kids into oblivion against benign childhood diseases such as measles, mumps, chickenpox, whooping cough absolute obscene. Corrupting the underdeveloped immune system of a newborn with the Hepatitis B vaccine is downright criminal. Show me a newborn sharing a needle with a junkie or engaging in sexual activities straight after birth! I personally have never been vaccinated, contracted all allegedly â€œdangerousâ€ childhood diseases the natural way thus providing me with life-long immunity which a vaccine will never do. Plus, given the fact that I have not suffered from a cold or flu in the last 25 years is indisputable proof that an uncorrupted immune system is the alpha and omega of your health and that of your kids.

My uneducated guess at this point is that autism is caused by multiple factors and that thimerosal might be an aggravating component with some other factors. But there are about ten variables for every constant in the equation right now, it seems like.

My wife is currently getting her masters for education with an emphasis in autistic education. She knows a lot more then me. But from what I heard there are some vaccines that trigger this disease in some people. Not necessarily by them self, but when taken with other vaccines. It runs in her family, I guess her brother was a healthy outgoing kid, then after he went through his vaccaines he changed. This also happend to about 5 other people in her family. If we ever have kids we have to space out the shots I guess.

Just to stoke the fires the parents in this case were on Larry King last night and CNN has been beating the warning drum to alarm everyone and there brother about the danger of vaccinating their children.

Autism is such a complex condition, apparently with multiple environmental triggers and lots of different gene markers that produce almost identical symptoms, that it’s hard to rule anything out these days. I suspect we’ll get a handle on it eventually – there’s a LOT of money flowing into research into autism and related disorders – but whether that means next year, five years from now, or 25 years from now is anybody’s guess.

Yeah, I’m trying to stay clear-headed here. This issue has just smelled wrong to me for awhile now. I don’t know enough to have an informed opinion, but I probably know enough to have semi-intelligent questions, and I’m going to keep asking them until we get it sorted out.

This makes me nervous, but not because there’s a chance that thimerosal caused autism. I’m more concerned that anti-vaccine groups will latch onto it as “proof” that all vaccines are bad. Conway’s own statement, “[b]ut it shows to me that the government has conceded that itâ€™s biologically plausible for a vaccine to cause these injuries. Theyâ€™ve never done it before.” doesn’t help allay my fears, it only stokes them.

Yet another thing for me to keep an eye on.
