The results of our latest S&R poll are in.

At the end of this year, will regular unleaded gasoline prices:

  1. exceed $5 gallon? (77)
  2. hover north of $4 a gallon? (48)
  3. exceed $6 a gallon? (42)
  4. hover around $3 a gallon? (8)
  5. drop substantially under $3 a gallon? (5)

Thanks for your vote. Our new poll, which asks your opinion on the integrity of NBA officiating, is now posted in the column to the right.

S&R polls are about as scientific as a Ouija board. Please, for the love of all things sacred, no wagering.

I wish I was allowed to partake in the poll. I have priced retail gas prices for the end of the year, and have a series of price projections based on a proprietary system that I use in my trading. I am actively trading gas on those projections. All I can say is that there’s a 92% confidence level of gasoline trading at $5.50 by November, when the refineries switch over. After that, barring a drop in demand, prices should go higher…unless the government steps in and disrupts the free market.
