In recent years, I've been trying to catch up on World War II in Russia by reading Anthony Beevor and the great Russian journalist and novelist, Vasily Grossman. Few Americans have any idea of the horror Russia lived through -- no thanks to Stalin, as well as Hitler -- and its role in winning WWII. Think I’ve got to check out this novel.
