It is unclear why Boone Pickens continues to say something that is so obviously untrue.

Altruistic as he can appear on his commercials, doesn’t Pickens stand to gain a lot financially if his plan is adopted? Even if he doesn’t, maybe this is a last shot at having a worthwhile legacy other than “Texas oilman”, a phrase which is used more pejoratively nowadays.

My hunch is that the best political team on television is garbage. Just a feeling I get in my gut, can’t place my finger on it. Fact is, the best political team on television is MSNBC, and that is sad.

Josh: Would that “real” reporters did this sort of truth-testing day in and day out. Instead, we get, as we did last night, 12, count ‘em, 12 members of the “best political team on television” saying what they “think” or “believe” about the debate rather than TESTING the claims.
