Who told John McCain to wear a pinstriped suit to a presidential debate. Maybe an understated gray on gray pinstripe...maybe. He looked like he was trying to get elected to be the Godfather.

Well, McCain keep saying that he'll be "saying things to Obama's face" tonight. I don't think that doing so would be a good idea for him, because of that little anger management issue that he has. An Obama response half as good as the one JS proposes might provoke McCain into a full meltdown on national television. And with the markets plunging again today, creating an opening for Obama to call him out on Keating would be trouble. On the other hand, McCain's been saying that he'll say all this stuff tonight, so he's kind of backed himself into a corner...which appears to be a habit that he's developed.

I really enjoyed this post. I hope that McCain doesn't bring that up, as honestly we already know and well, how do I say this nicely? I for one would loose a lot of respect for McCain if he did. It is one of those things that is misleading, not a proof a guilt of something. (I have had friends that I have later learned were not people I wanted to associate with, that doesn't say negative things about me.)

Well said. I hope McCain does try it tonight, but I doubt he will. He is a victim of his campaign, but more so of his greed and eight years of pandering to whatever forces he thought would get him elected. I believe it has been politics as usual for McCain, playing not the cards he believed in personally, but the best hand to step in the White House. In this election, his party was on the wrong side of the history they created, leaving him little choice but to flip-flop between conservation and change while alienating many of the "thinking" base of the GOP, both far right and moderate.
Oh, how I wish he does bring it up, though. But he won't. I think he knows it has no ground, has not gained ground, actually has lost him some ground, and to bring it up tonight would look like another desperate act by a desperate, old, unpresidential man.
Great posts; love reading them!
