My guess is that most failed campaigns end up tearing themselves apart. What’s changed is how deeply we can all see the picture, particularly from the losing side which is bound to start springing leaks.

I suppose so, and in that way, the ubiquity of the media is an advantage. I guess it comes down to how both Clinton and McCain underestimated Obama.

Nonetheless, if you’ve got a conspiracy in mind i would like to hear it.

Nah, I’ve got nothing. I’m just naturally suspicious when history repeats itself so quickly.

Suspicious of what? Failure, or being at the brink of it, at this level always sets people at each others throats. The tension and stress must be nearly unbearable, even when you’re winning…but hell when you’re losing. Bad decisions get fingers pointing and the recriminations feed each other. My guess is that most failed campaigns end up tearing themselves apart. What’s changed is how deeply we can all see the picture, particularly from the losing side which is bound to start springing leaks.

Nonetheless, if you’ve got a conspiracy in mind i would like to hear it. (no, i’m not being sarcastic…i love ‘em)

Some news shows make it look like the McCain campaign is already tearing itself apart. One reminded me that this is almost exactly how the Clinton campaign in the primaries turned out.

Which makes me more suspicious than anything.

Obama looks like Rommel, and i don’t see any Tobruks or El Alameins for the GOP…and unlike Rommel in Africa, Obama doesn’t lack for resources. It appears that he’s already outflanked them to such a degree that they have precious few positions to fall back to.

It really does look like the evolution of tactics worked by Guderian, Rommel, etc against an opponent still fighting static battles…
