Thanks...

I seriously do not understand this hysteria about immigration. To some extent, every immigrant group has gone through the process of being hated by the "natives" before becoming "native". But...

Where would this nation be without immigrants? People don't really think that "good Americans" were the ones working in the industrial heartland as the US became a manufacturing giant, do they? There was once an auto factory in Detroit named "Poletown", and even today the shops in the city of Hamtramack are liable to have signage in Polish and Russian...but often not in English.

When i've lived abroad, the thing i missed most about America was the hodge podge of culture...that i could walk down one street in the Detroit area and see nothing but Arabic, and then i could walk down another and see Polish, and then Spanish. It's this that makes us great, not some imagined purity of Americana.

Besides, it is not as if a bunch of "good (white) Americans" are lining up to spend 14 hour shifts in meatpacking plants...yet everyone wants to be able to eat a 99 cent cheeseburger. You can have it your way, but ya can't have it both ways.

Clearly, we need to build a wall between the US and Kenya.
