This is better than indicting a ham sandwich. Someone should send these guys a copy of Vincent Bugliosi’s book “The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder.” It will take someone on the fringe with no reputation for rationality to loose, to start the ball rolling but all-in-all the idea has merit. “Crimes have been committed…” as they say. Nothing like a good old fashioned Texas preliminary hearing to dig up the dirt. Who knows, it might start a fad.

Don’t bet on it. That particular prosecutor is not only out of office soon, he’s a well-known hot mess of corruption, scandals and just plain crazy-ass behavior. Even for Texas, he’s a piece of work.

As much as I’d like to see Dick on display in a witness box, this is not where it’s going to happen.

It will only take one thread of this dastardly fabric to pulled and we’ll watch the whole thing come apart. Here’s to hoping that the judge handling this case isn’t in Cheney’s back pocket and the lawyers can pull and tug a little. Sure would be nice to see him on the stand.

What’s particularly distressing is that Vanguard Funds was founded by John Bogle, since retired as CEO, long considered a rare repository of ethics in the corporate world.

Wonder if Bogle would have signed off on the prison stock acquisitions.
