Perhaps if America wasn’t giving Israel billions a year in taxpayer dollars, tanks, jets, helicopters, etc., they’d not have had the firepower and influence to pen the Palestinians in the Strip and those abused people wouldn’t have been so hungry and desperate as to break the cease fire in the first place.

Since it’s a vicious cycle that’s been going on ever since the global community decided to let religion dictate who gets to live where in contradiction to someone else’s religion, there’s not much to do about it. This is simply another massive loss of life in the name of religion. There is no solution as long as delusions dictate policy..

The Palestinians would kill each fighting over the air-dropped loaves of bread. The world would condemn the Israelis for their “inhuman” behavior. Stephen Colbert and SNL would use it as the basis for comedy sketches.

Hell, no. I’m just curious what the hungriest residents of Gaza, who, CNN says, depend on one functioning bakery at the moment, might think of Hamas, which has not provided loaves of bread in sufficient number to feed them.

Yes and no. I don’t think that the Palestinians want civilian casualties because those casualties are their family and friends. On the other hand, those casualties do “help” the cause. And it is a tried and true method of fomenting insurgency.

Roman Christians often longed for martyrdom for this reason. The technique was used non-violently by both Gandhi and King.
