You may have heard that it’s weathering up here in High Country.

Hope it’s lovely where you are, too.

I just got back from running in shorts and a t-shirt. I think it’s in the mid 70s. :) Of course, I’d rather be there then here, but that’s another story…

Is that second picture an image of the rare, dare i say “mythical” beast known as the black tauntaun? that’s some impressive weather.

we only got baseball-sized hail yesterday. i guess it’s not a big deal down here. still, where i come from, any hail large enough to remove windshields is significant.

  3. Dr. Slammy, March 26, 2009 at 8:18 pm :

The tauntaun prefers snow to hail, baseball-sized or otherwise.

No snowboots for the puppy? I know what to get him for Christmas this year…

  5. Ubertramp, March 26, 2009 at 11:14 pm :

Knit him a pink sweater, too. He’d like that.

We’ve only gotten a dusting…so far. But no biggie. In the UP, the old rhyme is amended to, “May showers bring June flowers.”

Bluebonnets are out here – and better than I expected. We’ll see if the fields fill up…

And no pink sweater, smartass. Ronan is a dog of a certain gravitas; I would never offend his sensibilities with a pink sweater. Now a nice red and black houndstooth would be different.

  8. Ubertramp, March 27, 2009 at 9:35 am :

I think Ronan also needs one of those St. Bernard casks of brandy to lug around through all that snow. Ya never know when Slammy will get stuck in a snow storm and need to be saved.

  9. Brian Angliss, March 27, 2009 at 10:15 am :

If it’s for Slammy, then it needs to be a fine single malt scotch instead of brandy.

Islay, lowland, or highland malt, I wonder….

  10. Dr. Slammy, March 27, 2009 at 10:41 am :

    Islay, for sure.

  11. Ubertramp, March 27, 2009 at 10:42 am :

Yeah. That’s true. I thought of that, but I knew St. Bernards carry brandy. And if Slammy ever found himself in that situation, I don’t think he’d bitch too much. Hah.

I had to make it into work today. But the rest of the family stayed home to play in the powder:

Djerrid, OMG! You stole my ruler!

I got that thing 22 years ago. And i think I was visiting NYC at the time.

  15. Ubertramp, March 27, 2009 at 11:58 am :

A likely story… :) Actually, I have no idea where I got mine.

hey sam – i walked to cherry creek this morning on my way to work, and while i did not take any pictures that shows definitively how much snow piled up around here, i took some that made me want to eat meringue. so have a look: http://open.salon.com/blog/kmbearden/2009/03/27/meringue_in_the_spring

Nice shots. Cheesman is probably a lot prettier than it is up here in the burbs….

  18. Terry, March 27, 2009 at 1:42 pm :

The way I see it, Mother Nature was napping on the job, and only just realized that she hadn’t given us our snow quota for the past two months, so she just went ahead and sent it all at once. :)

  19. Dawn, March 27, 2009 at 3:14 pm :

You can keep the snow… but Ronan – he’s so handsome.

  20. Dr. Slammy, March 27, 2009 at 3:17 pm :

    He certainly thinks so.
