Thanks Russ, initially for someone finally pointing out that Burmese monks' robes are not dyed with saffron, it mightn't seem like much, but, well, it's a fact and fairly fundamental one. Just last night I was sitting in Mae Sot having a beer with one of the VJ journalists who has just arrived. He said he just couldn't hold on any longer, he was essentially being hunted by the authorities. Now, while it was a great pleasure and humbling to have met him, I really wish he had been allowed to stay in his own country and work. These are the simple rights that are denied Burmese citizens.
