Better watch where you show that. Treebeard might get upset. :) I'm in Georgia for a conference this week, so i didn't get a chance to think about this one. I'm flying back tomorrow.

Farley - love it, Dick Cheney's false teeth, but no it's a saw blade. Regular old wooden handled hand saw :)

I love all the saw awareness.

Looks like a mitre saw to me, but it could be any of several types of backsaw. Can't say without seeing the handle.

Did you not take shop?

In my defense, there's a right tool for every job and very often a host of wrong tools that look very similar to the right tool. I like knowing enough about tools to be able to tell the difference.

Looking at it again, the teeth may actually be alternating - I'm not sure because of the light.

Now I'm going to have to look at my saws really closely when I get home.

I think you're right, Chris, but it's not a standard blade. The teeth aren't shaped right - most cutting teeth are bent away from the plane of the blade in an alternating fashion and they're angled forward away from the handle. That way the blade stays put as you cut, the cutting is more efficient, and the teeth don't get dull as fast.

At least, that's true of wood saws.

My first thought was a band saw since the picture shows little to no curvature (ie not a circular saw), but the teeth have me not sure of that.
