"Odd Juxtaposition" - hardly, getting away from that one song "DOA", Bloodrock had a jazzy rhythm section teamed with a great Lead guitarist, Lee Pickens -- the guy had great Tone. Spirit also had a jazzy rhythm and a aggressive guitarist in Randy California. "Misfortune" my ass. They were both great bands of the '70's

It was such an odd juxtaposition. What was Bill Graham thinking?

JS - Had the misfortune of having a buddy who bought the 8 track tape - an entire album of schlock - and he played this incessantly, particularly when we double dated. Why he thought this would inspire romance in our dates is an enigma I still ponder occasionally to this day....Maybe he was thinking the women would insist on sex because he could crash his car and kill us all at any time....

wufnik - You have my sympathy - although you got to see Spirit, so you were recompensed...maybe not enough, I admit...although to recompense for enduring Bloodrock you'd pretty much need to see your favorite band...no, wait, not even that would recompense...let me just reiterate the sympathy thing.... :-)

I had the misfortune of seeing Bloodrock live once--they opened for Spirit at Fillmore East. Horrible.

I remember this song well. It was quite the scandal in my neighborhood. I got a 45 before the local God squad got it removed from the drug store shelves (the drug store was the only store in town that sold 45s). I didn't think anyone else would even remember this.

Thanks Jim.
