iPhone Art, a different approach

Most of what I have shared so far has been some variety of full image manipulation with some layering and effects.  Today I have a different type of image to share.  These images were painted using words as brushes.  They are also my first two attempts at doing this (and remember, on my phone!!) so be kind!

This first picture is of one of my friends shooting pool.  Look for the words: Light, Shadow, Rob, Shirt, Cueball, Cue, Table and Background.

This second shot is another done from the “Dia de los Muertos” art outing we went to, thus the phrase inspiration for this piece.

Reference photo shot on the phone and all work done “in phone” using “Type Drawing”.  Yeah baby….

I’m assuming this tool shapes the words for you? Because this would be a bitch to do manually.

Nope, did those manually. :) Basically the words act as a brush and you “paint” with letters, choose your words, choose your colors (greyscale) and your font size. You can load a background reference image and then render it out on a solid color as I did here.

As my students might aver, “Way cool.” These would make great posters.
